Terms and Conditions Last Updated: 8/18/2025 Welcome to Chatapp ("the App"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. 1. Acceptance of Terms By using this App, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or rules applicable to specific features. If you do not agree, do not use the App. 2. Eligibility You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you are of legal age and have the authority to agree to these Terms. 3. User Conduct You agree not to use the App to: • Upload, share, or transmit any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable. • Violate the rights of others, including privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights. • Spread malware, spam, or other malicious content. • Engage in hate speech, harassment, or bullying in any chatroom or direct messages (DMs). • Use the proxy browser for any illegal or unauthorized activity. 4. Content Sharing The App allows you to upload and share audio and video content, as well as participate in a global chatroom and create private group chats and DMs (Direct Messages). You agree that: • You own or have the right to share any content you upload UNLESS it does not comply with the rules, above and below this section. • You grant Chatapp a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, host, display, and share your content as necessary to operate the App. • Shared content may be visible to all users or specific users depending on how it's shared. • The Chatapp moderation team and/or system may remove or restrict content at any time. 5. Global Chatroom and DMs • The global chatroom is accessible to all users and should be treated as a public space. • DMs are private but still subject to moderation policies and may be reviewed if a participant report is filed. • Inappropriate behavior, harassment, or sharing of illegal content is prohibited and may lead to suspension or termination. 6. Proxy Browser Use The proxy browser is provided for convenience and anonymity, but: • You are responsible for any activity conducted through the proxy. • Do not use it to access illegal content, bypass local regulations, or engage in malicious activity. • Chatapp is not liable for third-party content accessed via the proxy browser. • You are still subject to all Terms while using the proxy. 7. Account Termination We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the App. 8. Content Moderation We may monitor public areas (e.g., global chat) to enforce these Terms and may remove content or restrict access. Private areas may be reviewed upon report or in cases of suspected illegal activity. 9. Intellectual Property All content and code on the App, excluding user uploads, are the property of Chatapp or its licensors. Do not reproduce, distribute, or modify without written consent. 10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability • The App is provided “as is”. • No guarantee the App will be secure, error-free, or uninterrupted. • We are not liable for user-generated content or harm caused by shared media or proxy use. • We are not responsible for any use in school settings or outside permitted times. 11. Privacy Use of the App is subject to our Privacy Policy. 12. Changes to the Terms We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. 13. Compliance to the MBMS Student Handbook We do not use IM/SMS protocols; Chatapp uses WebSockets and is not a traditional instant-messaging service.
