Chicken Riddle

Anniversary Edition FAQ

What advice do you have for me?
At the outset, the best advice I can give you is to try to change your perspective. You won't get anywhere if you can't do that.

Beyond that, I'd encourage you to ask for help. Maybe someone else can offer the help you need.
How long do I have to solve it?
Submissions for this game close on Monday 5/12/25 at 8am PST (technically 7:59:59am).

You will receive a new hint each day until then, with the hints getting progressively easier (and the reward getting progressively smaller).
How many guesses do I get?
You get 1 guess per day. If you're wrong, you can try again the following day (assuming it's not the last day).

Wrong guesses impact your score. Not guessing on a given day has no impact on your score so long as you solve it at some point before the puzzle closes on the last day.
How else is this different from the regular game?
Normally, I send you a new riddle each day and your participation and performance on that riddle impact your lifetime score.

This special edition is a single riddle that will play out over the course of multiple days. Each day you will get a hint, and each hint will be progressively easier to decode. But it is absolutely possible to solve the riddle on day 1. As such, the sooner you solve it, the greater the reward.
Is this going to negatively impact my lifetime score if I can't solve it?
If you don't solve it by Monday at 8am PST, yes, it will count as 1 missed game against your score (but by that time, the difficulty level will be much lower). And so long as you solve it at some point before the deadline, it will count as a 100% for your average.

As for your streak, all days of this game will be considered a single day as far as the leaderboard is concerned.
What is the reward for solving it?
Maybe it's the friends you make along the way. But if there's more, you'll have to solve it to find out.
Is this a trick question?
No.
I am stuck.
First of all, that's not a question. Second of all, more often that not, being stuck is just a state of mind. You're no more stuck than a fly bouncing off the window glass, unaware of the open door 2 feet away. Which is to say, getting unstuck is just a matter of looking at things from a different perspective. You can also ask for help (sometimes a fresh look at a problem can yield fresh ideas).

Just don't ask me or the bot for help. And be aware that if you do ask the bot for help, anything it tells you may be a lie, because I have intentionally told it nothing about this game.
